Facebook Groups for Writers

Social media has become a large part of our lives. It is a way to connect to others from around the world. As authors, it is also a way to get help and advice from people who might have gone through the same thing as you, or who may have more experience. It’s a way to connect with people who can lead to a solution to your problem.

Just within the past year or so, I’ve learned about several groups on Facebook that have really helped me out. This is not to say that these are the only ones, or the best ones mind you, but these are ones that have been useful to me.

20BooksTo50K – This is a closed group on Facebook that discusses how to make more money as an author. Normal talk includes sales, ads, and promotions to help make money as an Indie Writer.

Indie Cover Project – This is a closed group on Facebook made up of authors and designers who offer real, honest feedback about your book covers and blurbs. Post a picture of your book cover and your blurb and let them help you make it the best it can be.

Fiction Writing – This is a closed group on Facebook focusing primarily on helping with ever stage of writing/publishing. From outline, writing, editing, query letters, formatting, artwork, blurbs, marketing. This is sort of a catch all for writing, and is made up of new time writers as well as writers who have been at it for years.

For All The Books – This is a closed group on Facebook that allows you to share and promote: Books, Graphic Novels, Webcomics/Art, Comic Books, New Releases, Social Media links and Giveaways. Once your book is published this is a good place to go to start showing it off.

Beta Readers & Critique – This is a closed group on Facebook where writers can get their work beta read and critiqued before publishing. Or, to beta read for other writers, meet up with people of the same genre as you and become beta partners. Trade your work with someone and help them, as they help you.

As mentioned, these are only some of the groups you can find on Facebook. If you have one that you like or use, please feel free to comment below. There are, of course, multiple groups for specific genre’s as well, so feel free to add those too.
